CELEBRATING OUR 16th YEAR!!

We need experts on benthic invertebrate (bugs and insects) to provide pertinent information and data for this section of our web site. Please email us at bthacker2@coalcreekaml.com or send us information by mail to CCCSI, P.O. Box 31707, Knoxville, TN 37930-1707. Summarize the data and provide references where possible. We will recognize the authors on this web page where possible.

Until then, published information on benthic invertebrate in Coal Creek and surrounding areas follows. Sampling site number 19 is on Coal Creek at Lake City. This data is from the late 1970s and was developed by the USGS as baseline data as part of the Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act of 1977. How does recent data compare with this baseline data? I sure hope it is better now that it was in the late 1970s. Our trout are going to need something to eat.
