"Measured in Labor:  The Coal Creek Project"
 

THE PLAY 

Playwright Alan Gratz has written an original play centered around the widows and children of miners who died in the Fraterville Mine disaster of 1902.  Knoxville Actors Co-op is scheduled to present the play from April 23 to May 15, 2004, at the Black Box Theatre in Knoxville.  Tickets can be purchased from their web site at www.w3st.com/actors_coop/schedule.html

As a community service, they will also present the play for Coal Creek residents and students on June 12, 2004, at Lake City Elementary School.

Pikeville, Kentucky on June 5 at Pikeville High School -- Community hosts - Pikeville High School and the Main Street Renaissance Program

Dunlap, Tennessee on June 19 at the Coke Oven Museum Outdoor Amphitheatre -- Community hosts - Coke Oven Museum

Cumberland, Kentucky on June 26 at the Southeast Community College -- Community hosts - Southeast Community College, Kentucky Coal Mine Museum and the Cumberland Tourism Bureau

Touring performances are at 8:00 pm and there is no charge, but they will accept donations at the door.
