REFORESTATION AWARD!!

We are honored and thrilled to announce that Reclamation Specialist Chris Miller, with the Office of Surface Mining, presented the Appalachian Regional Reforestation Initiative (ARRI) Excellence in Reforestation State Award to the Coal Creek Watershed Foundation (CCWF) at the annual Tennessee Mining Conference in Gatlinburg on Monday. Chris announced that the CCWF has planted trees on Forestry Reclamation Approach (FRA) prepared sites for the past six years, has educated the community on the benefits of reforestation on mine sites, and has fully supported ARRI and the FRA through its objective to “improve the quality of life in the Coal Creek Watershed.”
